Perhaps this note will sound really corny and goofy, but I hope you read it and understand that every word is true. I could say thank you a billion times for fixing my teeth and giving me a huge reason to smile, but no amount of words in any language could ever measure up to how you have made me feel. Before you put this smile on my face, I was embarrassed and ashamed by the gaps and spaces in my teeth. Completely self-conscious of my appearance, I hated to have my picture taken and avoided it any time I could, and I was extremely uncomfortable smiling or even talking in front of my family and friends.
Aways feeling sort of sad and unhappy about my smile, I made a promise to myself that one day before I graduate from school I would have my teeth fixed and I would go back to you, Dr. Thomas, the dentist who when I was little, once let me pick a tiny wonder woman doll from his treasure chest just for being a good girl. Whether you realize it or not, you have given me the very best gift in fixing my teeth. Even when I am old and gray I shall never forget what you did for me and that all my happiness in this matter was because of you. You not only gave me a smile, you gave me confidence. A self-confidence I never knew I had before. Thanks to you I am no longer ashamed or embarrassed to have a picture taken, give presentations in front of my professors, or even laugh and smile in front of my friends. You have made me feel like a brand new person both inside and out and you took away all the negative feelings I once had. I am not sure which smile means more to me - the one you created on my face, or the one you created in my heart.

Dear Dr. Thomas and everyone at the office,
John and I want to say thank you to you all for the wonderful care we receive every time we come to the office. When people ask why we travel 45 minutes from home to go to the dentist we have many reasons to tell them why we won't go anywhere else! It's incredible to think about the fact that John first came to you for his braces fifteen years ago - and there is a huge probability that our daughters will be seeing you for their orthodontics when the time comes. (With John and I for parents they have little chance of not needing braces - poor kids) You have all taken such care that the girls are comfortable with their dental visits and that they aren't afraid to come to the office - at ages 2 and 5, that's a big accomplishment. You have always been generous in your care for us - not only with your time but also no matter what our financial or insurance situation has been. Over the years all of you have shown that you really care about your patients and we wanted you to know how much you are appreciated.

Dr. Thomas: I just wanted to thank you for the care you gave me this summer when I broke my tooth. I had my crown lengthening this morning and I'll be coming back for the root canal in two weeks.
